Preliminaries
This all depends on which product you're ordering. Products generally have an estimated turnaround time of 2-4 business days, or 5-7 business days. Business days do not include weekends. To make sure the estimated turnaround time fits in your schedule, check the turnaround time on each product page.
As vibrant as color can be on screen, its impossible to have colors you see on screen, print on paper. As the saying goes “Your screen lies to you”. The colors you see on your computer screen is called additive color. Subtractive color is the kind of color which is applied to your print job.
Additive Color describes the situation where color is created by mixing the visible light emitted from differently colored light sources. This is in contrast to subtractive colors where light is removed from various part of the visible spectrum to create colors.
Subtractive Color model explains the mixing of paints, dyes, inks, and natural colorants to create a full range of colors, each caused by subtracting (that is, absorbing) some wavelengths of light and reflecting the others.
The color that a surface displays depends on which colors of the electromagnetic spectrum are reflected by it and therefore made visible. We cannot guarantee that colors will come out the way you expect but with our high end equipment, your job will be produced with the highest quality possible. Unfortunately, our print process does not allow for us to make this happen. Our quantities range from 100 qty to 5,000 qty+ as this depends on what product you’re ordering.
EXAMPLE: If you were to want just 125 cards, we would have to put this on a 250 size print run. The print process does not allow us to spot half way through production to change the printing plates for a different name as this would add considerable cost to the job.
In the end, the short answer is No. This request is not possible due to the printing process which gives us the ability to offer special pricing on such custom cards.
We cannot rush our production times, only the shipping method. It is, YOU, the customer’s responsibility to map out when exactly you need cards and to make sure you’re ordering the right product. We are NOT responsible if your requested deadline is not met. If you’re unsure if your cards will; or will not meet your deadline, please contact us and our staff will advise if this is a possibility or if we advise against it. We do our best to make our customers aware of this and stress that orders are placed weeks in advance before the deadline. Even though it’s rare, your job could be rejected by quality control and sent back into production for a reprint.
When you order any type of print job through us, you agree and understand the stated turnaround times and that they are only an estimated time frame and not a guarantee. By ordering and approving your printing proof, you understand that your job can finish early or could take a couple extra days in production.
Although we make every possible effort to turn jobs around in the estimated times offered, your job may require more time due to unforeseeable or uncontrollable circumstances or finishing services added onto the job. We will not credit customers if a job runs past the estimated turnaround time. Turnaround time does not include shipping time, just production time. TURNAROUND TIMES ARE AN ESTIMATE, NOT A GUARANTEE!**
NO! Let us repeat that —- N-O!
Certain colors that your screen shows, do not even exist in print! Therefore, if you’re using the CMYK formula, the color of choice will differ than what is shown on screen.
If using only the 4 color print process, we cannot guarantee that colors will come out the way you expect. However, with our high end equipment, you can expect your job to be produced with the highest quality possible.
Online Printing System is a prepress process that bridges the gap between online digital content and commercial print production. The process allows a print house, a client or a graphic designer to create, edit, and approve computer-based online templates during the prepress phase. This process increasingly calls for a Portable Document Format (PDF) workflow environment with output provided by digital printing.
There are many ways to make sure your file is set up correctly. We recommend sending your file in as a .ai, .psd, .pdf with layers. This way we can inspect your files easier. When setting up your document, please make sure you have a bleed line of a 1/16″ bleed on all sides. For example, a 3.5″ x 2″ business card file should be submitted at 3.625″ x 2.125″.
We also recommend a bleed line of .25" as well. Please use our print templates for the best results. Make sure your color mode is set in CMYK and NOT RGB. This is give you an idea what colors you can use before you start the design process.
If you are designing your piece in Illustrator, please make sure to convert all fonts and text to outlines and flatten all transparencies. ( .PDF, .EPS, .AI files ) Make sure your resolution is set to a MINIMUM of 300 DPI!

Silk lamination is the up coming feature for printing. The process of printing a silk laminated card is unique. It starts by having a standard business printed in full color, then laminated on both sides with silk which gives off its special ‘smooth as silk’ feel. Having a silk laminated business card is unlike any other card. However we do advise that the silk is a laminate, not a coating. Having a silk laminated card can slightly effect the color of your finished card.
UV Coating is one of the most popular features people choose for their standard business cards. It’s fast, cost-effective, and still gets good impressions. UV Coating consists of a gloss coating that is applied to the printed paper and dried using a ultraviolet light. This process makes the UV coating a slick surface which becomes near waterproof.
The site currently supports eight major and popular print products as listed. We are shortly going to introduce more products like logos/mailing labels, vinyl stickers, catalogs, banners, calendars, door hangers and raised ink cards.
There are three options for designing and customizing a product. Click a product on the left-hand panel and choose one of the options.
1. Custom Design: lets you customize the products. Click it to open the design studio and use multiple tools to create your own design.
2. Upload Design: using this option, you can upload your own JPG, JPEG, GIF, PNG, EPS, AI, PDF and PSD images.
3. Browse Design: use this to select hundreds of pre-loaded templates. Work on them or customize them through our design studio.
The type of paper used for difference purposes is expressed in weight. In the countries following the European system, it is grammes per square metre (gsm or g/m2 or simply g) and in the US system it is Pound (lb).
The paper used for writing/printing (letterheads and such stationery) is generally between 60 to 120 gsm (20 to 70 lb) and is called the paper or text stock. Anything heavier than this is considered the card stock, i.e. the paper used for business cards, postcards, greeting cards, etc.
Coated papers are available in two finishes – glossy (shiny and smooth) and matt (flat and lusterless). Coated glossy papers reflect the light evenly so they are suitable for almost all types of printing jobs. Glossy papers have a good ink holdout, which is important for creating sharp, bright images.
Printing
We accept PDF, EPS, AI, JPEG, TIFF, and PSD files.
If you have blue in your design, please make sure you have at least 30% difference in your Cyan and Magenta values. As you may know, blue is fairly close to purple in the CMYK spectrum. Use a low amount of magenta whenever using high amounts of cyan to avoid the purple hue.
It depends on what you are trying to achieve. We advise that you DO NOT put Spot UV over any small text as clients in the past have been disappointed trying it. If you are unsure, let a professional staff member give the final call. However we WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE if we tell you not to proceed. At that point, you are at your own discretion.
This heavily depends on the design’s artwork. We do not recommend borders at all. However in some cases, the border can be printed perfectly. When in production, the printing plates can shift up to 1/16″. This slight shift within the printing plates is a natural cause during the print production. If creating a design that contains borders, please make the border AT LEAST 0.25″ thick on all sides. If your border lines are not thick enough, the document will not look 100% centered.
We do not guarantee that any type of border thickness will be 100% even. We will not credit/refund any jobs that contain slightly shifted borders!
Typical house printers cannot print edge to edge. Your printer at home or office will almost always leave a white border around your paper ( if trying to print edge to edge ). For a specialty print shop like We The Printers, we require that you have a 1/16″ bleed line so your item can have color from edge to edge. When you extend your design/color past the cut line, the blade cuts right through the ink versus not having a bleed line and cutting directly on the cut line which is almost impossible. This will leave a white line on almost all of your cards. When designing your card, try to keep important information at least 1/8″ from the cut line (red line). By doing so, this will ensure there will be no text cut from your card.
We will not add a bleed line for you, that is the designer’s responsibility when creating the product. If your document does not have the proper bleed line, it will be rejected for you to fix.
Our system supports RGB (red, green, blue) for producing digital prints. We have accurately mapped color pallet to match RGB to CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, key) to ensure proper 4-color printing.
300 dpi (dots per inch) is the resolution of the output PDF file.
We use offset printing, which provides the highest quality of print material for both text and images.
Pricing
No, the price list indicates basic prices of products against the speculative quantities. The prices are calculated with regard to the most basic paper/card types, sizes and single side printing. As you know, the final printing cost depends on many parameters: paper/card weights or thickness (GSM/Pt), glossy or matt finish, 2 or 4 colors, square or rounded corners, single or double side printing, quantity, destination shipping charges and the mode of transport. Please use the indicative prices for calculating the basic cost. Once you place the order using the above parameters, we will quickly mail you the final, exact cost.
